*SALEM AUDUBON MINTO-BROWN ISLAND PARK BIRD WALK*

*Sunday, March 1, 2020*

Fred and Kay were joined by seven (7) other birders for the Minto-Brown
Island Park bird walk. It was foggy and 37 degrees at start but gave way
to sunshine and 45 degrees at the end of the walk. The group walked 3.5
miles along the usual south route from lot 3. After the bridge they saw a
pair of Wood Ducks searching for a nest cavity. A female Hooded Merganser
was seen on the oxbow past Homestead Road as was a small flock of six (6)
Ruby-crowned Kinglets. As we returned past the bridge, the Bald Eagle pair
was seen copulating in the top of a Douglas Fir. Can the patter of little
feet be far away? They observed (saw or heard) 41 species.
