> - Comments: "Located away from other diving ducks, diving repeatedly for more than a minute at a time. Medium sized duck, mostly grayish brown. Dark cap with pale patch on rear of cheek. Dark bill. Observed for brief times on surface over about a fifteen minute period through the rain in a scope from about 50 yards away. Looked for but did not see long tail of ruddy duck. White on the cheek was in wrong location and degree for ruddy as well. First impression was of second pale patch on front of check but did not see on later looks."
