This will actually be the fourth spring that I have seen orioles in this spot. I did my usual scouting this spring starting when orioles were first reported in the valley, but without any luck until today.
I have wondered if they nest in the area because when they show up I usually see them for a couple of weeks, which makes me think that they have settled in.

BULLOCK'S ORIOLES do not seem to be real easy to find
around corvallis. mary garrard has found a pretty good spot. for 2nd year
in a row it appears a pair is working the area just west of forest dell park.
from town you go north on highland. past walnut maybe 1/2 mile, left on highland
dell, left on 13th, right on bonnie and look around 1684 bonnie. just park on
the road and look and listen. besides orioles today we had western tanagers,
black-headed grosbeaks, warbling vireos, wilson's warblers, house &
purple finches, acorn woodpeckers, red-breasted sapsuckers, juncos, and i have
also seen western bluebirds there.
