[birding] Grosbeak afternoon

Hi all,

I've been watching a half dozen or so of both Evening Grosbeaks and
Black-Headed Grosbeaks - mixed males and females.

They must be in the trees nearby, because as soon as I refilled the feeders
earlier this afternoon (Thurs, May27), because the BT Pigeons had devoured
everthing, (oops - sorry),

they started coming constantly, and I am watching them out the window as I
write this from my Skyline West, NW Corvallis home.

The Grosbeaks are being joined in visits to the feeders by RB Nuthatches, BC
Chickadees and Juncos.

I bought a new type of suet and feeder that a pair of Downy Woodpeckers
can't seem to resist! They visit it about every 20-30 minutes!

My Rufous hummers are still around and seem to be generally annoyed by the
presence of other birds!

I haven't seen any GC Sparrows in about 10 days now.

I have been seeing more crows come to my yard than I recall from previous
years, hmmmmmmm. . . .

Speaking of corvids - Stellar Jays are always a presence and have been
investigating the new suet feeder, also

Bring on the sunshine!
