Hi all,

While doing some meadowlark surveys on the west and north sides of
Baskett Slough NWR this morning, I enjoyed a few bonus birds:

AMERICAN BITTERN heard calling from marsh west of Morgan Lake;
WILSON'S PHALAROPES flying back and forth over Smithfield Rd. just W of
Livermore Rd.;
WESTERN KINGBIRD "singing" on the fence at the latter location, and
later a pair just NW of there along Morris Rd. (maybe same male bird);
LAZULI BUNTING and CHIPPING SPARROW singing along Van Well Rd.
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS heard along south part of Livermore Rd.

Still lots of ducks & geese (plus 2 or 3 Bald Eagles harassing them)
around on the refuge, but I didn't try to sort them out.

Happy birding,
Joel
