The unusual number of Nashville Warbler reports in the mid-valley has had me out in the backyard early almost every morning, until finally, this morning (May 7), a male perched conveniently about 12 feet from our dining room windows. This is the first NASHVILLE WARBLER that I've seen in the valley. It only stayed for ten or fifteen seconds, but not a minute later a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD visited a feeder in the same tree. This is our second male Calliope of the spring (the first having visited April 18 & 19). This evening we had an unusual (for us) visit from a female ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD, making this our first ever three-hummingbird-species day. I'm guessing I won't see any of them during the NAMC tomorrow.
Yesterday we had FOY YELLOW WARBLER and WILLOW FLYCATCHER.
