Subject: Evening Grosbeak

Hi Aaron

My neighborhood has had Evening Grosbeaks daily since March 9, 2010.
They stop at my black oil sunflower feeders daily throughout each day. I count between
30 and 40 daily. I suspect they roost a block away in some Elm trees at other residence.

Hi,

I am a graduate student at the University of California, Davis. My
research is on Evening Grosbeak subspecies. I hope to find out how many
subspecies exist, where they occur, and what the differences between
them are. My plan is to find groups of birds from throughout the
western part of the their range and band, measure, record, and collect
blood samples from them. My first step is to locate the birds, and
since they are nomadic this can be difficult. If you see groups of
Evening Grosbeaks, especially if you see them several times in the same
place, and would be willing to send me an email, I would very much
appreciate it. Any information (where, when, how many, etc.) will be
very useful.

Thank you very much,
Aaron
