1. a group of 8 of us had an empidonax flycatcher last evening on owens farm as part of the celebration week.
2. unfortunately we did not get close enough views to id it completely.
3. it certainly was not a pacific-slope or a willow or a gray. so it was probably a dusky or hammond's.
4. this is unfortunately private property.

Subject: [birding] Natural Areas Celebration Week- Monday's events

Join the Natural Area's Celebration Week tomorrow for its next events of the week.
Following are detailed descriptions of each activity and where to find us when.

Monday, May 3rd

3-5pm Herbert Farm Tour with Iris Benson of City of Corvallis Parks and Rec Dept

Herbert Farm and Natural Area is 221 acres of city owned land along Mary's River. Herbert Farm and Natural area is unique due to its location, rare habitats, and cultural history as well as serving as a host to a number of rare plant and animal species. We will tour part of Herbert Farm looking at on site restoration opportunities and management issues. The site may be muddy so wear appropriate footwear. Take Hwy 99 south to Herbert Avenue, follow to the end.

6 pm–8 pm Owens Farm Evening Tour with Greenbelt Land Trust

Come walk with us during a pleasant evening tour at this significant natural area in northwest Corvallis. The Greenbelt Land Trust purchased the property in 2002 and has been actively restoring the wetland prairies, riparian forests, and oak woodlands. Given a clear day, we might catch a glimpse of the Cascade’s Three Sisters as we meander along the oaks. If interested, meet us at the Greenbelt office for departure at 5:45 pm. We are located at 101 SW Western Ave. Please dress appropriately. FMI, call Steve Lilly’s cell at (541) 207-5529. http://www.ci.corvallis.or.us/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=550&Itemid=492
