I have some discomforting Western Bluebird news.  There were 4 eggs  
in the nestbox here at my place about a week ago.  But after that  
prolonged heavy rainstorm, I never saw the pair again.  It appears  
that they abandoned the nest.

One of my professors who is a song-bird specialist believes the rain  
storm drove them away because of the lack of insects.

Ah, the heartbreak of Bluebird rentals!
