Hello folks,
Crescent Valley High School was getting some very wet SNOWFLAKES at 9:15
AM today. In Lewisburg Saddle (McDonald State Forest) the snow was even
sticking to the vegetation (though not the road surface). The
VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS along Soap Creek Rd. were bunched up on the wires,
looking rather unhappy with this weather.
The ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS hanging out at the Oregon National Guard's Camp
Adair Rifle Range looked right at home. They must have missed out on
word of the spring redeployment to points farther north, as there were
still at least three: a male/female pair perched close to each other
atop Douglas-firs inside the fence just south of Robison Rd., and a
third on its favorite pole just east of Rifle Range Rd. x Robison Rd.
Interesting to see the two acting like a pair -- wonder if they'll
migrate to the same breeding territory.
Happy birding,
Joel
