Hello,
A group of crows and starlings were all upset near the train station in
downtown Albany this morning. I followed the commotion to a tree where a
Merlin darted out, inspiring waves of bird alarm calls nearby.
After that excitement, I settled into my work desk with my coffee,
checking email and a Cooper's Hawk flew in the direction of my window. I
darted outside to get a look but it disappeared in a shallow flight over
the roof. My coworkers are on to this sort of behavior. When I returned,
someone was explaining to another, "When Don runs out like that, it's not
because of a fire. He's seen a bird."
