[birding] Pine Siskins!

Howdy,

I had two Pine Siskins in my yard today (Sun. Mar.14)! These are the first
I've seen in ages at my home in NW Corvallis (Skyline West). They came in
with a small flock of BC Chickadees, and ate at two feeders, and
investigated the suet.

Pine Siskins are the first NW bird I learned to identify (other than the
"no-brainer" ones), after moving to Oregon from Southern California some 20
years ago! We used to see lots of them, but I know reports of Pine Siskin
sightings have been down for a while now - hope this is a good sign that
more will follow to my "bird restaurant"!

Also, a lot of raucous Pileated Woodpecker sounds coming from the forest
today.

A few more of those stinkin' B-T Pigeons are coming around - guess if I'm
going to feed the birds - can't discriminate towards the gluttonous ones!

As I'm writing this I see two more Pine Siskins with some Chestnut Backed
Chickadees (or the same two) out my upstairs window.

Bring on the Pine Siskins!!!
