[birding] One lingering swan at Airlie

Hi folks,

I made a quick detour up to Airlie Rd. this morning on the way home from
some errands. There is still one SWAN hanging out with the goose flock
along Airlie Rd. at Berry Creek Rd. It was *really* far off so I
couldn't be sure of species. In terms of general impression & shape it
looked more like a Tundra Swan, though very large alongside of the
geese. Last month there was one Trumpeter Swan that was hanging out
separate from the flock and may have been injured, so another
possibility is that this bird was left behind when the flock migrated.
Might be good to check back on this bird; it could be a rehab candidate.

Two TURKEY VULTURES were sharing a dead COYOTE (would guess it was shot)
with two RAVENS in the grass field along the west end of Robison Rd.,
which also still had two ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS. Three more vultures were
roosting along Tampico Rd. near the south end of Wiles Rd.

Still no hummingbirds at our place, but we never get the first wave.

Happy birding,
Joel
