1. this saturday march 13 is the Audubon Society of Corvallis monthly second Saturday Bird Watching 1/2 day field trip.
2. Meet at Benton Center 757 NW Polk Ave at 7:30 AM to carpool. you should be back about noon.
3. Bring Binoculars, water, and sturdy shoes for the walk along a local birding trail.
4. i will not be leading. you will have the advantage of having joel geier as the leader, a much much better birder than i am.
5. so far joel plans to do some linn county things including parks in albany that haven't received much attention lately(Simpson, Waverly, and Grand Prairie) for song birds, eurasian wigeon and gulls, and then bird a bit of the open country around Tangent for raptors and maybe larks/pipits, maybe with a stop by the sewage ponds for ducks.
6. weather forcast so far looks pretty good with possible showers, but only 30% chance of rain.
7. so come join corvallis audubon for a birding morning.
