[birding] Barn owls

 Hi Birders,

Over the weekend I finally discovered who was leaving the collection of large owl pellets in the backyard--I am hosting a pair of Barn owls who come to dine at the nightly rodent buffet under the bird feeders.  I got to actually see one of them with the help of a flashlight, and then listened to the pair fly around and call in the last light of day. I am guessing that they might be nesting in the large barns behind the house.  I don't know if anyone tracks data for Barn owls in OR, so I thought this might be worthy of posting.

At any rate, a great yard bird that ranks right up there with last summer's Green heron who was attempting to procure lunch in my fishpond!
