[birding] Rufous Hummingbirds gone from our place

Hi all,

Just occurred to me ... our hummingbird has had no business in about a
week now. There were still a couple of RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS at Luckiamute
State Natural Area during the Luckiamute Watershed Council tour
yesterday. But it seems like at least a few of the locally nesting birds
have started to move out (to higher elevations I guess).

Two male LAZULI BUNTINGS were chasing each other around the upper part
of our yard this morning, and doing "display flights" (I guess -- the
one was fluttering overhead while giving static-like twitter sounds).
I've been later than usual to mow the non-native grasses that are
growing tall in our prairie restoration patches. That's bad in terms of
letting the European grasses go to seed, but the buntings seem to like
it.

Happy birding,
Joel
