chris & a few of us looked for the grosbeak from early to 830 with no luck. i guess another 1 hour bird. those of you with feeders that have black-headed grosbeaks might look carefully as there could be a female rose-breasted grosbeak somewhere as well.

Subject: [birding] RB Grosbeak not seen again this evening
Hi all,
Sorry I didn't post my location sooner - I hope to see the bird again, but as someone said, it could be a one-time lost bird - nevertheless - it was great to see!
A few local birders came this evening to try to spot the RB Grosbeak again (we did see BH Grosbeaks) - no luck - but there's always tomorrow! Sadly I have to work most of the day on Thurs., but feel free to come and look for it - in this neighborhood your chances of seeing SOMETHING interesting are pretty good!
The RB Grosbeak is more rare around here than I'd thought, after reading more on it!
I'm at 2645 NW Foothill Dr. - which is off of Ponderosa (from Glenridge - veer left) - this is a dead-end street - we're the last house on the right, with a chain-link fence surrounding. The bird was spotted at a hanging tube feeder attached by a pole to a huge Fir next to the covered gazebo. Feel free to pass along my location to other interested birders.
You can come along the north side (forest side) to the back (more forest) and see the feeder (and other feeders) from behind the house. There are some other feeders at the edge (north) of my property close to the forest, as well - watch for Wild Turkeys which are always around! If you like BT Pigeons - no doubt you will see a few!
