Karin, As we talked about at the Center, on 6/4/10 at about 5:30 pm
I had a visit at my backyard feeder from a rose-breasted grosbeak, who
stayed at the feeder for about an hour. As you know, my house backs
right up to a mixed forest of Douglas Fir and Oak and is just about
half a mile uphill from Timberhill shopping center on Rolling Green
Dr. I didn't know what type of grosbeak it was so I had to look it
up, and it was for certain a male in breeding colors, with a bright
red patch on it's breast. I have lots of black-headed grosbeaks and
often a pair of evening grosbeaks but have never seen a rose-breasted
one before so it was pretty exciting. I'll let you know if I see him
again, Stacey
