Hello, everyone. I have a nest of swallows in the vent to my microwave. How much longer will they be staying? The've been hatched for at least 2 weeks and are able to fly a bit. I'd like to use my microwave and also to clean up the mess from the nest. The chicks certainly are noisy - chirping and flapping their wing alot. Thanks Eleen

Hello Birders,
The Red-Shouldered juvenile continues to haunt the Roth St./Willamette St. neighborhood, calling frequently (begging), and swooping my feeders to chase the Doug Squirrel, who took it personally and vocally expressed his displeasure.
Along with others, I, too, have noticed up-slope forest birds going through the neighborhood; Chestnut-backed Chickadee (only one), Pine Siskins, and Red-Crossbills.
