7 of us birded south corvallis this morning, an absolutely georgeos day to be out.
1. philomath sewage ponds had at least 1 GREATER SCAUP among the usual ducks
2. llewellyn road had no owls but rough-legged hawks, a few bald eagles and a lot of ravens
3. priaire overlook had a distant kite, red-shouldered hawks, and 20+ meadowlarks, some singing.
4. muddy creek crossing had many wood ducks
5. cabell lake had 99+% of the birds as far from our side as possible. there were a few cormorants, 1 swan, and a lot of ducks tooooooooooooooooo far to see.
6. across from cabell entrance were 1000+ wigeon including at least 2 EURASIAN WIGEON
7. the LEWIS' WOODPECKER was at the normal tree.
8. bruce road had more blad eagles and rough-legged hawks.
9. mcfaddin marsh had 1 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE. apparently we just missed a great-horned owl as the people there said it was on the railing near the blind. we didn't find it.
