Hello, everyone. Yesterday, my mini schnauzer and I were jogging in McDonald Forest. We went up toward Dimple Hill from the Oak Creek drainage. You pass on to a rock/gravel road on private land via a short mud biking trail. Jut down that road where a small creek crosses, I saw two pileated woodpeckers. They were still in the same area when I retruned 35 minutes later. There also is a resident flock of Oregon Juncos near there.

Over the past month, there have been up to 11 egrets in the open area to the west of 99 just south of Goodnight. Also, Canadian geese and quite a few mallards.

mary garrard & i went to e e wilson for about 90 minutes looking for spizella sparrows - we found none.
1. 2 different WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS (1 white eye-stripe and 1 tan eye-stripe)
2. at least 8 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS
3. there was a lady there the entire time we were there and she was not finding the sapsucker at all and hadn't found it when we left.
4. the adair sewage pond (east of rr tracks and north side of ryals road) had 30+ scaup and a few bufflehead. there were probably greater scaup that joel reported, but we were not sure.
5. we walked out the rr track (it is about a 7-8 minute walk so not bad), but i didn't carry a scope as it was raining. a scope would have been helpful and i wish i had carried it. so if you go there i recommend walking the tracks and carrying the scope. and use some stealth as they flushed when we got close.
