[birding] pelagic

1. as many of you already know greg gilson runs excellent pelagic trips out of newport. you can check his website http://thebirdguide.com/ 
2. nanette & i are going on the saturday march 6th trip. this is the trip of the year with highest possibilities of short-tailed shearwater, ancient murrelet, laysan albatross, short-tailed albatross, horned puffin, kittiwake, and still a lot of the normal seabirds. i have no idea how many spots might be available for this.
3. unfortunately greg does not guarantee good weather or good birds, but we hope for both. he does have excellent spotters.
4. we will likely leave here about 530 am and should get home about 7 pm.
5. if any are interested in this you are welcome to ride over and back with us. you will have to sign up on your own of course.
