Hi Birders,
This afternoon there was a flock of approximately 300-400 Dunlins at the Brownsville sewage ponds on Hwy 228. I would not have known they were there, except that there were about 200 Dunlins standing as a group in the gravel lot adjacent to the construction company in front of the ponds. It was quite a sight as the birds wheeled around the ponds as a group.
Also a late report, but I had a Short-eared owl winging over the fields at dusk on Tuesday evening at the intersection of Linn West Rd and Hwy 99E. I looked on Wednesday and Thursday evening, but did not see it again. That was the first owl I have seen at that location.
