Hi folks,
Jeff Hayes posted this report on www.birdnotes.net. I think the ANNA'S
HUMMINGBIRD might be the first one ever recorded on the wildlife area,
though we've had visitors to our yards on either side of the wildlife
area.
I think the date of this report should actually be 13 Feb (yesterday)
rather than today when this was typed into the database, since it
mentions being there at dusk. The count of TRUMPETER SWANS is from
Airlie Rd. Sounds like the main flock is really massing now; I hope to
get out there for my usual end-of-winter swan census before they fly out
in late February.
Happy birding,
Joel

Note: I did NOT find the Y-b Sapsucker, but when I arrived there
were perhaps 40 people and 20 dogs at HQ and the WWII memorial and
