Subject: [birding] Possible Goshawks in North Albany

Hi All,

This is Romain Cooper, (the CBC compiler for the Illinois Valley count down in
Josephine Co.) passed on an intriguing third-hand report from his brother-in-
law in Albany, a golfer who's been seeing what he thinks are two GOSHAWKS
frequenting the Spring Hill golf course in North Albany. Apparently the birds
are well-known at the golf course so must have been around for some time.

Possibly these will turn out to be Cooper's Hawks, but the alternating
greenways and conifers of that golf course do in some ways resemble goshawk
habitat, so this seems worth checking out. Any birder-golfers out there?

Happy birding,

Joel Geier
Camp Adair area north of Corvallis
