[birding] Nashville Warbler and other birds

While sitting here at my desk reading emails about all the Nashville Warblers that everyone is seeing and thinking about how I haven't gotten out to look for warblers at all yet this spring, a little movement caught my eye. In the red maple right outside the window here at the USDA germplasm repository on Peoria Road there is currently a flock of about 8 Yellow-rumps, 2 Wilson's Warblers and, you guessed it, a male Nashville Warbler. My first of the year.

Back at home, I had my first House Wren last Wednesday, Black-headed Grosbeak Saturday morning, Western Tanager Sunday evening, and last night I saw a pair of kingbirds on the powerlines at the corner of Wiles and Military Road, so maybe they are hanging around? I've at least heard the Bullock's Oriole almost every day since he first arrived a week and a half ago.

Things are definitely moving through...
