Hi all,
Just now another NASHVILLE WARBLER was foraging in a small oak tree in
our back yard, just west of E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area. The same tree
also had ORANGE-CROWNED, WILSON'S, and AUDUBON'S WARBLERS, so lots of
bright birds, busy in the rain. TOWNSEND'S & BLACK-THROATED GRAY
WARBLERS and COMMON YELLOWTHROATS were also singing nearby.
If you can make an excuse to show up late for work, today might be a
good day to look for warbler fallouts in other places!
Happy birding,
Joel
P.S. A flyover flock of EVENING GROSBEAKS kindly solved last week's
riddle, giving the same rattle call that I heard, but also the more
familiar "teew!" call.
