Reporting our first-of-year male BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, looking pretty tired and slurping up the bird seed on a feeding platform this morning. Our records over 13 years show our previous earliest arrival date as Apr 25 (twice), with mean--and median--earliest arrival 12 days later, May 1st. Previous early arrival years were 2009 and 2003.

He may get a bit lonely.
