Jamie,
Thanks for posting that. It struck me that I don't usually find Orioles until right around the first week of May, but I hadn't had a chance yet to go hunting for the phenology table to look up the average. My next door neighbor asked me yesterday when the Orioles will be back and I told her that it should be in about another two weeks. Now I feel like a liar :-)
Incidentally, the Kingbird is about a week early as well and I noticed a couple others had their first of the year within the last day or two as well.

Nice birds! That's a fairly early oriole given that the average Corvallis arrival is May 5th and the earliest on record is April 11th.
In spite of the cold weather, things seem to be a bit early (related to the averages), such as Wilson's warbler and Pacific-slope flycatcher.
Phenology for Corvallis spring arrivals can be seen at:

Yesterday while taking our new puppy for a walk I had a Western Kingbird at the end of the driveway working the maple trees along Military Road (northwest end of coffin butte). This morning I saw my first Bullock's Oriole of the year singing in the front yard.
Spring is here!
