Hi all,
This morning two WILSON'S WARBLERS were countersinging on territory up
on the ridge behind our house, along with COMMON YELLOWTHROATS, several
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, a MYRTLE WARBLER, and what I think was a
BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER. I'm still not tuned up for distinguishing
the last species from Hermit & Townsend's -- always takes me a while
each spring -- so I'm going on hunches based on what kind of tree the
song is coming out of.
Five DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS barreled over, headed north. Seemed sort
of late for them to be hanging around the Willamette Valley, considering
that nesting season is underway on the coast.
Happy birding,
Joel
