[birding] Natural Areas Celebration Week

The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition's Natural Areas Action Team would like to invite you to join us for the 1st Annual Natural Areas Celebration Week 

May 1-9, 2010

 

There are activities for all ages including volunteer events, guided hikes, and restoration tours offered throughout the week at various locations in Benton County. Other highlights include a special showing of the "Mid-Valley Safari" movie, historic building and tree tours, nature walks, and an evening at Tyee Winery complete with wine tasting and a bon fire.

You can also find us at a booth at the EarthFaire on the 17th as well as at the Garden Sale May 2nd.

After looking over the schedule, let me know if you'd be interested in joining any of our nature walks as a local expert. Basic plant and bird knowledge would be much appreciated to share with what we hope is a good turnout for many of the hikes planned. We're hoping to get the word out about how special our open spaces are and to show people the many plants and animals that rely on them.
