 Hi all,

Yesterday afternoon my yard was graced with a white dove of some species, which by general lack of fear would say it is someone's escaped bird. It can only fly a short distance, and I think the wings have been clipped at some time previously. The general size is compatible with a Mourning dove, but the bird is an albino. The tail is pretty ratty, either done in by a predator or a cage that was too small. Is it likely to be a Turtle dove? The bird was not associating with any other doves or pigeons, and I have not heard it make any sounds.

The bird was such an easy target that I didn't want to leave it out, so I put it in my empty chicken coop for the time present with some food and water. Thoughts? Does anyone out there who keeps doves want the bird?
