Wanted to note that the Lewis' Woodpecker was in the same area near Bald Top yesterday morning looking quite dapper in the early sunlight! Anyone know of a female looking for a buddy, please send them that way...
An Acorn Woodpecker discovered the suet feeder yesterday and the rufous hummingbirds are still battling it out over their feeder.
They perch on the brush pile, blending in perfectly until the next one comes along to be chased around.
The large Yellowlegs "flock" continues in field 1 near the entrance and the
last of the dusky Canada geese were in the back corner yesterday. Most
are on their way back to the Copper River Delta in SE Alaska.
At home, we are up to at least 16 Evening Grosbeaks cleaning us out of sunflower seed. Such a lovely spectacle especially now with the sun finally shining! Need to fill the feeders well before heading over to the Pacific City Birding and Blues Festival for the next few days.
Have a great weekend,
Molly~
