1. tristen & i spent 4 hours covering south corvallis yesterday afternoon - found nothing very interesting.
2. philomath ponds had relatively few ducks except buffleheads - close to 50 of them. there were at least 2 GREATER SCAUP in with the lesser's and ring-necked.
3. cabell lake had a lot of swallows - mostly tree, decent number of violet-green, and a couple cliff. there was not 1 spot of mud where a shorebird might think about stopping. we did hear a couple yellowthroats and marsh wrens are definitely back.
4. there were still about 20 GREATER YELLOWLEGS across from prairie overlook - no lessers. and there was a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK out on the prairie.
5. wilamette park had nothing.
6. hp pond had no canvasbacks.
7. jackson fraser wetland is almost completely under water with water coming up through the boardwalk in many places.
8. so far i have no idea where this saturday's field trip will go - open to ideas???
