Hi all, I was driving by Goltra road on highway 34 between Corvallis and
Lebanon just after sunset when a wierd, large, dark, gyrating, spiraling
object caught my eyes in the dusk, falling past the tops of some tall
conifers. Turned out it was two adult bald eagles, grasping each other by
the talons, continuing their spiraling plunge almost to the ground. I did a
quick u-turn and followed as one pursued the other and finally they
separated, one perching in a treetop near me and the other lost to my
sight. My impression was that their interaction was very aggressive, not
courtship, but I didn't have the chance to ask them... Steve Seibel
