[birding] Cacklers and nighttime migrants

I just saw a flock of Cackling Geese fly over with some Canada Geese mixed
in.  I've looked forward to them coming back for a long time!
Last night we heard a flock of Greater White-fronted Geese as we were out
walking around 8 PM.  A couple of Swainson's Thrushes gave out some
"wheep!" calls and Don heard some other call, that sounded like some kind
of shorebird, but we weren't sure who it was.
