Hello folks,

Speaking of Lewis's Woodpeckers, Wednesday morning while driving a kid
to school I caught a passing glimpse of a bird that made me think of a
Lewis's WP, flying in to a perch just north of the old Lewisburg Grange
Hall (now a Greek Orthodox Church).

Not really a sighting, more like a sense of a visitation based on
fleeting perceptions of general shape and intangibles. But that
neighborhood often gets a wintering Lewis's Woodpecker so I'm just going
to mention it as something to be on the lookout for.

Also of interest, for anyone biking or driving north on Hwy 99W from
Corvallis toward Lewisburg, is a WINGED DEER, not far from the hospital.
This one is stationary and has been present for a couple of weeks.
Normally I would frown on such things but this one was a work of
inspiration, and well executed.

Happy birding,
Joel
