Hi all,

One of our kids was up doing homework into the wee hours of the morning,
which woke me up. So I went outside to make the best of it, enjoy the
stars, and see if I could hear anything flying around.

Listening from approximately 1:15 to 1:25 (10 minutes) I heard the
following:

Swainson's Thrush 14 calls
Barn Owl 3 calls (seemed to be one owl)
Mystery Bird 1 double, "kip-kip" call heard from high up over the
ridge -- sounded most like a crossbill but if so,
it would be the first one I've heard in the
neighborhood this year. Better wait to see what
                    daylight brings!

Visuals included 1 METEOR toward the WSW.

Only 3 vehicles went by on Hwy 99W during that time, which is about as
quiet as it ever gets here.

Happy birding,
Joel
