1. 7 of us were the corvallis audubon 1/2 day field trip. we went to cabell lake, mcfaddin dryland, and philomath sewage ponds in search of shorebirds. it was a nice day and we feasted on blackberries as we birded.
2. cabell had
32 WHITE PELICANS
1 BALD EAGLE (immature)
3 GREEN HERONS
1 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON
2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS
2 LONG-BILLED DOWICHERS
4 LEAST SANDPIPERS
1 WESTERN SANDPIPER
1 AMERICAN WIGEON
1 CALIFORNIA GULL
100+ violet-green swallows
lots of canada geese
common yellowthroats and bewicks wrens and wislons warbler
3. mcfaddin had
4 more GREEN HERONS
probable black-crowned night-heron
100+ barn swallows
4. philomath had
3 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES
2 RUDDY DUCKS
2 PINTAILS
1 probable PEREGRINE FALCON
lots of shovelers and coots
lots of savannah sparrows
