paula & i went searching for gulls in north benton county today.
1. there were about 60 gulls swirling over the dump, but they never landed in sight. now i could id a couple GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS based on size and no black on wing tips at all. there were no westerns or mew, but we could not tell herring from california form ring-billed.
2. we also found about 20 gulls between elliott sewage ponds and hgwy 20, but toooooooooooooooooooooo far away to id even on full zoom scope.
3. elliott still has the COMMON GOLDENEYE i reported maybe 3 weeks ago or so.
4. there were the usual buffleheads and ring-necks and shovelers, and 1 female hooded merganser.
5. there were about 12 EURASIAN-COLLARED DOVES on wires just 3 trailers from the ponds.
