Yesterday we found a large owl pellet at the base of a light post in the Nypro parking lot, right across Dunawi Creek from Sunset Park. I thought it looked large enough that it was probably a Great Horned Owl's pellet. There are quite a few Camas Pocket-Gophers in the community garden area that would be a tasty owl meal.
There was a Red-shouldered Hawk flying toward Dunawi Creek. We didn't have binoculars handy and couldn't tell if it was an adult or not. Earlier in the summer, a young one was hanging around by the beaver pond.

At 8:20 am near the drive in entrance to Starker Arts Park (45th and Country Club Drive) I heard a RSHA calling loudly. Crows and jays were joining in. With the leaves mostly fallen from the Ash trees, it was easy to get a good look at the Horned Owl. The RSHA was hopping from branch to branch, quite near the owl.
