Thanks to Rich Hoyer for putting the thought of new birds in the area on the brain this morning. If I hadn't read that post before I went out the door, I may not have looked twice at the lbj in the quarry. I quickly noticed how pale it was when it flew from rock to rock and had to get the scope on it. Got great looks of a ROCK WREN at Pigeon Butte quarry. This may be the first record on the refuge. Unfortunately it was quiet, I do love their song! I just read that Hendrick Herlyn also saw one on the coast in Lane County, maybe they are moving in!

Molly~
