1. thanks to rich hoyer for reporting the bank swallow paula, nanette & i went to philomath ponds this morning, and indeed we saw a BANK SWALLOW.
2. there were also tree, barn, violet-green, and cliff there. later at irish bend we had northern rough-winged to complete a 6 swallow day.
3. also at philomath were 9 alternate plumage RED-NECKED PHALAROPES (as far as we could tell it looked like 8 females and 1 male - and remember it is the female phalarope that is more colorful).
4. 2 pintails, ruddy ducks in full blue bill plumage, some wigeon and green-winged teal, and always happy to see wood duck and cinamon teal.
5. also 3 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS (i had 2 yesterday at corvallis sewage plant)
6. at irish bend besides the swallows
    a. many WILSON'S and a few YELLOW WARBLERS
    b. a few WARBLING VIREOS
    c. singing BULLOCK'S ORIOLES
    d. we tried to find hoyer's dusky flycatcher but all we saw was 1 WESTERN WOOD PEEWEE and maybe another flycatcher too briefly to know anything.
    e. pair of bald eagles before the end of the road
    f. osprey dining on fish
    g. BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK
    h. cooper's hawk glided over
