marcia cutler, mary gerard, and i did finley this morning. we even ended up with coats off!
1. thanks to molly monroe for telling me there might be shorebirds on mcfarland road
a. maybe 5 dunlin (couple with black bellies)

c. probably 100 least sandpipers

c. maybe 12 greater yellowlegs
d. probably 400+ green-winged teal
e. many cinamon teal pairs
f. we are pretty sure we had about 5 SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS (at limit of full zoom distance and definitely only 1 breast band so we don't think they were baby killdeer)

h. 1 male YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD at the scrape
i. 1 PEREGRINE FALCON sitting in the field
j. 3+ HORNED LARKS
k. the only passerines were yellow-rumps, orange-crowned, common yellowthroats - no flycatchers or tanagers or grosbeaks or orioles or thrushes
l. a few bald eagles and ospreys (1 caught a fish and as always was carrying it aerodynamically)
m. 2 GREAT EGRETS - seems late for them?
n. marsh wrens chortling everywhere
