Mona St. Marie and I found an Orange-crowned Warbler at Stewart Lake (HP), Corvallis, feeding in 2 flowering cherries of some sort. Today & Friday I saw rufous hummingbirds feeding in the same trees at the southeast end of the lake, as well as OCWAs last year.
We also found a Pileated Woodpecker working on an oak tree on the west side. This is first pileated that I have on record there since January, 2002. We watched it, then turned 180 degrees and watched a pair of bushtits building their nest within 10-15 feet of last year's location (and several previous years' nest locations as well).
