[birding] Gutsy Coopers!

Hi all,

I had a Coopers Hawk (young female) drop down below hanging feeders
yesterday (Mar. 12), checking out the area, and then perching on the bird
bath. All the Juncos and Towhees had already flown for cover, of course.

I almost thought she was going to eat bird seed (not a raptor thing to do),
but she seemed to be just checking things out, and maybe hoping ones of the
yard birds would be dumb enough to hang around! The bird could see me close
by, but was seemingly unperturbed!

"My" Rufus hummers have returned - woo-hoo! Saw a male and female this week.

No sign of more BT Pigeons (whew)!

Lots of Robins around, and Stellar Jays, Crows, WC Sparrows, occ. Varied
Thrushes, and the usual yard birds.
