Hi Paul-- looks like a typical 1st year Bald eagle. Goldens have the white
markings on the flight feathers, not the coverts. Glad you had good luck
eagle-watching. These days I find it impossible to spend more than half an
hour in the central Willamette Valley (east of Corvallis and east of the
Willamette River) without seeing several Bald eagles, this is truly the peak
of the eagle season. Steve
