Rich and all,
Second time is the charm! I made it out to Coffin Butte around 130 and only had one very high-flying Glacous-winged Gull. I stuck around for a bit and chatted with Karl Fairchild, who was pretty sure he had seen the Glacous Gull soaring very high a few minutes before my arrival. After seeing my first two Turkey Vultures of the year, I gave up and returned again around 4 PM. This time the gull flock was actively flying just above the active dump site above the headquarters building. The Glacous Gull and an adult Western Gull both made nice low passes, allowing good study.
Thanks,
Tom
