Michael Molk and I walked the boardwalk at Jackson Frazier (NE Corvallis) this evening from about 5:45-6:30.

The highlights:
We heard at least 4 VIRGINIA RAIL individuals with no prompting (i.e. recordings) on our part.  We heard both the so-called grunt call and the male breeding call (ka-DIK ka-DIK ka-DIK).

I heard one ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER song.

As we were close to leaving several scattered birds flew fairly low over our heads, vocalizing. I think they were probably Wilson's snipe.
