Hi Joel and all,

I just heard a LESSER GOLDFINCH singing in the Crystal Lake Sports Fields
yesterday. They nested in the park last year. Between the baseball fields
and river are plantings of native Ponderosa Pine, Cottonwood, and Oregon
White Oak. Last spring I watched the goldfinches feeding young in one of
the small pines.

These dense trees currently hold 100's of AMERICAN ROBINS each morning on my
dog walks. If I watch closely, I can also find NORTHER FLICKERS, BROWN
CREEPER, DE JUNCO, SONG SPARROW, and many others.

This morning, my German shorthaired pointer flushed two LESSER GOLDFINCHES
while pointing robins out in the open grass of the baseball fields.

They are here!

cheers,

Trent
